Weekend Reading – WhatsApp redesign, App starter kits and More

Welcome to this edition of Weekend Reading for the week ending Feb 22. At SuperDevResources, we are committed to bring latest and greatest Design, Development, Marketing and Monetization resources for app and web developers. In case you missed any of our blog post or were on a tight schedule, we bring Weekend Reading for you. In this post, we will take a look at the useful resources and tips that we brought for developers in the week gone by.

Last week we brought redesign concept for WhatsApp by Juan Pablo Ursic. Amidst buyout by Facebook, this concept was well received by everyone as it brought a fresher and more colorful look for the app.

We also wrote about Windows Phone and Windows Store app starter templates. For Windows Phone, these starter app templates provide you with a fully customizable implementations of RSS app, WordPress app, Podcast app and app for schools. Windows Phone App Studio was also highlighted which provides a great starting point with its variety of templates based on Foods, sports, insects, movies, hobbies and more. The Windows Store app templates that we wrote about cover a large variety of domains like health, e-commerce, cookery, music etc. and can prove beneficial for kick starting your next Windows store app project.

For the benefit of your app development and to help you in searching new APIs to integrate in your app we wrote about API directories.

And then we gave you list of free icon resources which provide you more than 100,000 icons. Most of these icons are flat, modern and minimalistic as per the latest design trend and you can use them in your commercial projects as well.

This was all we had this week for Weekend Reading and we hope you liked it. We love hearing from you. Please do let us know what else you would like to see on this site.
