Windows Store App Starter Templates

Yesterday we wrote about Windows Phone app starter kits, which can give you some head start while developing apps for Windows Phone. Today, we will highlight similar starter templates available for Windows Store apps. These starter templates are available in the form of Visual Studio project (C# and JS) on CodePlex and are meant to be used as design reference for your app.

As of writing this post, there are 72 different Windows Store App Starter Templates available. You can view all these Windows Store templates on CodePlex. You can learn more (and view snapshot) about some of them below:

1. Cook Book Windows 8 Template

The Cookbook template is an emulation of a Cook book app with placeholders for Group, Category, and Detail data. Making use of this template you can create any Cookbook app. Refer to the snapshots below to get a glimpse of the templates look and feel.

2. E-Commerce Electronics Windows 8 Template

E-Commerce Electronic template will help if you want to build an app which has the following ingredients: Category Display, Group Category Display, Category Detail Display, Detail Display. Making use of this template you can create any E-commerce app. Refer to the snapshots below to get a glimpse of the templates look and feel.

3. Notes App Windows 8 Template

The Notes Template is an emulation of a Daily Notes app with placeholders for Calendar, Overdue and Task. You can leverage this template even if you are not building a Notes app, but the implementation scenario is close to the template. 4. Health Management Windows 8 Template

Health Management template is an emulation of a personal health manager with placeholders for Profile, Reports and Patient details. Refer to the snapshots below to get a glimpse of the templates look and feel.

5. Travel App Windows 8 Template

This Travel Dark Background template is an emulation of a travel app with placeholders for Vacation destination, group destination and destination detail data. Add to favorite features are left out of the template intentionally as they are better dealt during actual implementation. 6. Restaurant App Windows 8 Template

Restaurant template is an emulation of a Restaurant app with placeholders for Restaurant category, Restaurant Details. Booking Table and eventual payment features are left out of the template intentionally as they are better dealt during actual implementation. 7. Health & Fitness Windows 8 Template

Health & Fitness template will help if you want to build an app which has the following ingredients: Category Display, Group Category Display, Detail Display. Making use of this template you can create any fitness app. Refer to the snapshots below to get a glimpse of the templates look and feel.
